The following was the standard layout of Scryer-class vessels.
Translucent panels along the front edges of the saucer shielded instruments that coordinated data from the class's active sensor probe. The active sensor arrays allowed the starship to gather information about and expose vulnerabilities in its target. Vessels of the class were equipped with a cloaking device and active sensor arrays to assist in the stealth and information-gathering requirements of the class's missions.
Designers looked to notable vessels of the past when designing the Scryer-class and took much inspiration from the Crossfield-class of the 23rd century.
